Why the tube and base were chosen
Inside, you’ve got a halogen-filled quartz tube. Halogen helps keep the filament steady and cuts down on that annoying blackening over time. Quartz? It takes high heat in stride and doesn’t crack when the temperature swings. The coating protects the element and keeps output steady. And the R7s connector is a two-pin ceramic base that does its job quietly well: it locks in solid, carries the load safely, and makes wiring and swapping the lamp straightforward when you’re out on the machine.
