You can’t just line up a few basic bulbs and hope for the best. That’s why we build custom, long-format heating units. We pair high-output lamps with aluminum reflectors that are actually engineered to handle the distance.
Killing the “Cold Spots”
Here is the real headache with long setups: the gaps. If your lamps aren’t perfectly aligned, you get cold spots right at the junctions. That’s a nightmare for glass. We fix this by designing the reflectors to either overlap or butt-joint perfectly. No gaps. No radiation leaks. We use high-purity aluminum because it’s the best way to force the heat down into the glass instead of letting it bleed away into your ceiling.
The Battle Against Warping
Building something over 2 meters isn’t just about length; it’s about physics. Aluminum is great, but it can warp when it’s heated and cooled a thousand times. If the reflector bends, your focal point shifts. Your heat goes sideways. To stop that, we reinforce the housing so the beam stays exactly where it belongs. A Word of Warning on Heat
Let’s be honest: high-density IR arrays put out a massive amount of waste heat. Even with great reflectors, the back of the unit is going to get hot.**Really hot.**You need to make sure your exhaust ventilation can actually keep up. If your cooling is too weak, you’re looking at burnt-out wiring or reflectors that lose their temper. We spend a lot of time balancing the wattage per meter. It’s a delicate dance. You want the glass to hit the target temperature, but you don’t want to shock the material or warp the surface. It’s all about finding that sweet spot.
