We went with a modular setup instead. The heating element lives in its own little house with quick-disconnect terminals. So, if a tube dies after five years, you don’t have to spend your entire Saturday rewiring the machine. You just pull the module, pop in a new lamp, and slide it back in.It takes minutes, not hours.
Heat, Power, and a Little Bit of Friction
We use shortwave infrared tubes because they hit you with heat instantly. No waiting around. But because they run incredibly hot to push that warmth through the open air, we had to be smart about the housing. We added high-grade heat sinks to make sure the internal wiring doesn’t melt under the pressure. Now, there is one thing to keep in mind. These high-wattage elements are powerful, which means they put a bit more stress on your power supply. Just make sure your circuit breakers can handle that initial “kick” when you first flip the switch.
Keeping the Water Out
Water is the natural enemy of electronics. Period. That’s why we sealed these modules tight. We used gaskets that don’t shrink or crack, even after the heater has gone through a thousand cycles of heating up and cooling down. The best part? When it’s time to swap a part, you aren’t opening up the “brain” of the heater to the rain. You only open the specific heating chamber. It’s a simple drop-in process that keeps the rest of your system bone-dry and safe.
